AFter upgrading to Win XP from ME, I am unable to get my
browser to work. It will go to my home page but will not
allow me to type in a URL. I keep getting a message
that "There is no website configured at this address". Is
there a way to check to see if there is a hardware or
software conflict with XP?

IE is a part of XP. Whatever the problem is isn't XP, it's an IE
configuration issue.

When you say it won't allow you to type in a URL, what exactly do you mean?
You physically can't type in any addresses? When do you get the message
about no web site being configured? After doing what exactly?
What is your home page (is it a site on the Internet)?
Can you copy an address into the address bar?

When I load IE, it goes to our main page
(www.fbcboonville.org) instead of
www.fbcboonville.org/webmail. If I hit refresh, it still
goes back to our main page. Then if I type in a url, like
www.microsoft.com it goes to a page from CPanel (which our
server uses as the administration software for our
website) and says the message "There is no website
configured at this address". If it is an IE problem,
where do I look to find that? I have gone through the the
Internet options in the control panel but not seeing
anything that seems out of order. Any help will be
appreciated.

This is just a matter of setting what page you want to be the browser's
default page. Select the "Tools" menu, then "Internet Options". In the
dialog that opens type: http://www.fbcboonville.org/webmail and from now on
that will be the page that opens when you start IE and that will be the page
that you are taken to when you hit the "home" icon (house) in IE.
If I hit refresh, it still goes back to our main page.

Of course it does, all refresh does is reload the current page. So, if the
wrong page was there before, the wrong page will be re-loaded.
Then if I type in a url, like www.microsoft.com it goes to a page from
CPanel (which our
server uses as the administration software for our
website) and says the message "There is no website
configured at this address".

Ahhh, do you use a proxy server then? If so, choose "Tools"..."Options"
again, choose the "Connections" tab and then click the button at the bottom
that says "LAN Settings". On the next dialog that comes up, check the
checkbox for "Proxy Server" and fill in the address and port to use.

This is definately just a configuration issue. (you can get to the
Internet, you can type in the address bar, the page that comes up
(incorrectly) is the web page for a product that you use.)

.
No we don't use a proxy, my default page
(www.fbcboonville.org/webmail) now is what will not load,
I don't know how it keeps loading my website's main page
(www.fbcboonville.org).

It must be something with your site. I can't get to either address of yours
now. Have you checked for viruses and spyware?

Thanks for your help. I didn't know that there were 2
different places for proxy. I had turned one off but not
the other and when I did it fixed it.
