IP Address conflict

Eric Barnes

I have a home network of five computers connected by DSL
to my ISP. Three are connected via a router. A and C on
the hub will work together. B and C will work together
but not A and B ever since I had to reinstall XP Home on
B. The message I get is: "IP Address conflict." How do I
resolve the conflict?

Ip address conflicts usually occurs when two or more
network adapters share an ip address. When this occurs,
one can only work as an ip addres has to be unique. If
you have static addresses, manually assign a different ip
address to the machines on the local area network.

If DHCP is present, open the command prompt and type:
ipconfig/release then ipconfig/renew and see if this
fixes the problem.
