XP Conflict with VIA SATA Driver

I am trying to load XP on a Asus A7V600 using a SATA HD.
When trying to load the drivers durind setup I get the
following error <FILE SATA\WINXP\VIARAID.SYS CAUSED AN
UNEXPECTED ERROR 512 AT LINE 2108 IN
D:\XPCLIENT\BASE\BOOT\SETUP\OEM DISK.C. What am I doing
wrong? Thanks

It appears you have a VIA chipset and needs to patched to update it to allow
for SATA. SATA is relatively new, hardware for it is only just beginning to
appear so the system BIOS and chipset may need to be updated to accommodate
this hardware. Have you checked the motherboard website for compatibility?
Have you checked the VIA website for compatibility?
