xp computers can't access shared folders from vista computer

All 3 -XP computers on my home network can't access shared folders from
1-Vista computer although they can see them, a click yields a "access denied"
message. All computers in same workgroup, permissions to "everybody" granted.
Vista machine sees all XP shared folders and accesses them fine. This problem
seems opposite what others experience in other posts. Help?

MS- didn't make this stuff easy that's for sure. Security tab has permissions
set for 4 different things like admin, all have at least read capability,
other than that, I'm not sure what to add, does it want a "everbody" command
or "workgroups"? I'm really lost. Reading endless links on the Chigago link
you gave me, hopefully I'll find something there. I do appreciate the help.

Found my solution ( at least for me). Permissions are indeed granted in two
places. The trick that worked for me was in the security tab you must "edit"
permissions then "add" which allows you to type in the box "Everybody" which
is not listed, you have to type it in. I would not have know to type it if
not for "Everybody" being the default term in the share permissions folder.
Really overly complicated, I though this was all to be much easier.
