David

Hello all,

When I try to connect to the 2000 domain we will say
test.local I recieve the error.

Note: This information is intended for a network
administrator. If you are not your network's
administrator, notify the administrator that you received
this information, which has been recorded in the file
C:\WINDOWS\debug\dcdiag.txt.

An error occurred when DNS was queried for the service
location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain
controller for domain family.local.

The error was: "No connection could be made because the
target machine actively refused it."
(error code 0x0000274D WSAECONNREFUSED)

The query was for the SRV record for
_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.test.local

Any help will be great thanks a mill.

Do you have you XP machine pointing to the DNS server(s)
for your Win2000 domain? It must.

Also, that zone must be dynamic and your DCs have to
point there also (to register.)

All set in properties for NIC\IP\DNS Server
