Microsoft Guidelines for maintaining disks and volumes
suggests that a trial restoration of files backed up via
backup be performed monthly to confirm file/hardware
integrity.
Question: How do you perform a trial backup restore?

Back it all up, restore it, and see if it works.

If it was me, I'd do the restore on a spare drive, just in case it doesn't
work.
