I am trying to backup my C drive to my D drive. After I finish the backup
wizzard, I receive the following error messsage:

The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The operation was
aborted.

I do not know what caused this error or how to correct it.

Try using Xcopy instead of the backup wizard.
At the command prompt type: xcopy /? and pay attention
to the command line switches that you will need to copy all
files into the same directory structures and all weather read only
etc.
Not sure what good this will do as a restore would not make the "C"
drive boot into a backed up system without re-installing XP.

Perhaps looking into Acronis TrueImage would be a better choice.

Then the image could be stored on the D drive and the boot CD would
allow you access to that to restore your system.

It's not horribly priced. Around $60 US. Worth every penny if you need
it.

Good Luck,

Trev
