XP and Win 89 dual boot

HI

i have at home win 98 but when i add win xp without
deleting win 98 , ( i install win xp on new folder ) , on
the startup screen i didnt find the dual boot choises but
i saw it on the setup procedures , i edit the file of
booting Sequance , i add the new line for booting win 98
refering to the folder that already had the installation
of it , but after i reboot and choose the win 98 line it
gives me the following message <<<"""windows could not
start because file missing , cant find hal.dll please
reinstall a copy of the above file""">>> , so how can i
install that file and have dual boot between both win 98
and xp on my pc , please for any body could help me i'll
appreciate so much

The problem is you apparently installed Windows XP in the
same partition as Windows 98. You should only install
operating systems on different partitions and not just in
different folders. You'll need to start over from scratch.
