Don't know if I should be here or not...but I'm running an E-machine, 2 gig,
256 ram, 80 gig hd....XP home, and HP printer, model number 1210. I don't
print very often, so I have printer off mostly. When I turn computer off,
after a couple of days of it running, and turn it back on, XP will add files
for the printer, and it's been happening for about 2 months now...every time
I turn computer on. Printing and scanning is fine, it just annoys me,
because it shouldn't happen. Any ideas?

What files are "added" ?
Do you mean it reloads the driver?

It "configures"whatever that means. I just restarted computer and that's
what it said as it was adding something. It was real quick though.

Let XP configure the printer so it is properly installed. Then don't
turn the printer off. There is no need to; it sucks very little juice.
See if that takes care of the problem.
