Memory wise you will/should be fine but we don't know anything about your
processor. Your disk is too small, you should get another hard disk for
the Windows XP installation and keep the small 2GB one for the sole use of
the Windows 98 installation.

Hi,
Here's what MS says. John is absolutely correct about the hard drive. You
might want to check your graphics card as well., though I believe Win98 had
the same requirements. You may also need some additional drivers specific to
your sound card. In any case I would back up all data before installation.
These are the minimum requirements for basic functionality. Actual
requirements vary, depending on the system configuration and the programs
and features that you choose to install. If you are installing Windows XP
over a network, you may need additional available hard-disk space.
The minimum hardware requirements for Windows XP Home Edition are:
a.. Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is
recommended)
b.. At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended)
c.. At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk
d.. CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
e.. Keyboard and a Microsoft Mouse or some other compatible pointing
device
f.. Video adapter and monitor with Super VGA (800 x 600)or higher
resolution
g.. Sound card
h.. Speakers or headphones
