xp and parallel ports

I am trying to add a Primax Colorado Direct 9600 scanner
to my system using my printer port. I have managed to
install the drivers for it and the software I'm using for
scanning recognises the scanner but it seems as though
the computer doesnt. I have tried to use the add
scanner/camera wizard but my product doesnt show up. Can
anyone help please?

If you're trying to piggy-back it with the printer using the LPT port as
well, it won't work. XP doesn't support piggy-backing devices. One of them
must use a USB port.

Cori, my system (when for a short time I had XPpro on it) recognized my
IOmega zip100 and HP LJ5L piggybacked to it...
on parallell port..(ECP mode)
