XP and Norton GoBack

Sorry, can't find a 'well traveled' Symantec site to ask this.
Recently my PC has begun crashing with some regularity. Usually I get a
half-second BSOD and then a reboot. On the few ocassion I see a BSOD on
reboot I sometimes see *** GOBACK2K.SYS
I have found references on the net concerning GoBack and external HDs (I
have a partitioned WD USB HD) and GoBack/XP problems. I am hoping for
guidance on how to troubleshoot this.
I have tried to view CTRL-ALT-DEL processes and kil GoBack to see if
this would reduce my crashes. The only reference I see there is GBPOLL
but I am apparently not able to delete this. Suggestions please.

Turn off automatically restart on error by right clicking My Computer |
Properties | Advanced | Startup and Recover - Settings. Untic
automatically restart. The next time it BSODs it should stop on the
blue screen and you can see the error specifics.

Uninstall Goback. Contact Symantec Tech Support.

Thanks, but it is already 'unticed.' Now what?

The GoBack polling can be turned off in Administrative Tools/Services.
It's listed in the Services tab. I think its primary purpose is the
Protected by GoBack popup which flashes during startup. I don't think
this will cure anything. What version of GoBack are you using and are
all the external partitions protected. -- Howard
