xp and cd burning

S

Sherry A. Johnson

I have recently begun using windows xp and am trying to find my way
around( I used windows 98se before)

I used a cd burning program that allowed me to format a cd so that the
computer thought it was a harddrive for ease of burning. I am finding that
xp has its own build in burning program. Does anyone know if that same
direct cd feature exists with xp?

What it allowed me to do was to format a cdrw and then it was read as a
additional harddrive.

I notice format as an option is that what that is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Direct CD is a component of Easy CD Creator, www.roxio.com. This
functionality, known as packet writing is not supported in XP's CD Writing
function which is closer to mastering as in creating an audio CD.

Please see the Roxio site above for versions compatible with Windows XP and
drive compatibility.
