XP and 98 clients coexisting

I'm in the process of planning an upgrade of our network clients from Windows 98 to Windows XP

We have a lot of computers and it's pretty certain that we'll have to have both client types coexisting on the network for some of the time

Is there a way to make the 98 clients ignore the settings I put into Active Directory
At the moment all our policies are set up using Policy Editor and a logon script, but I will be moving as much as possible over to Active Directory
Some things may change for the XP clients so it would be best if the Active Directory policies only apply to the XP machines. Is this possible?

98 probably ignores most of them anyway. heh

9x does not natively understand Active Directory so you
should have no problem. In order for 9X to use Active
Directory, you need to download the ADSI (I believe that
is the correct order) component.

Because Win98 machines _cannot_ be made domain members, most AD
policies will be irrelevant to them, anyway.
