Whilst out my "son in law" lovely man that he is!
developed a problem with his pc which he then brought
round to my son who is 17 to fix as he knows the
basics.
During this time he told my son that he needed
to "borrow" his windows XP disc but it would be ok as it
was not piracy cos he had his own code (which he also
forgot) but told my son that if he activated it using my
sons code and contacted microsoft for a £7 phone call he
could somehow "magicaly" get it authorised for his pc!!
under his own "existing" code.
I am unaware of all the copyright laws and what can
and cant be shared, using his disc was fine as i am aware
but to use my sons code? this does not sound right to me
and would like it verified by someone who knows whats what.
Can my son in law change the code by telling
microsoft that he has upgraded his system and in effect
steal my sons XP?
