Has anyone had problems with getting XP-64 for the Athalon
to recognize a on board sound chip?. I have the Asus SK8N
mother board and with the 32 bit version the sound worked
great, Realtek ALC 650. After installing the XP-64 it does
not even recognize the chip. Putting in the 32 bit driver
does nothing but give me a bad driver error.
Whats worse, shutting the on board off and plugging in a
Sound blaster Live 5.1 gets no recognition. By either the
OS or even the sound blaster driver, which comes back "no
Sound blaster card found".. Replace that with a PCI 128
same thing. I have tried 14 different sound cards, all of
whome work fine in 32 bit XP. and Not a single one will in
XP-64.
What is the problem or do I need to go back to SUSE Linux
to get the 64 to work proper..?
Or maybe back to the good ol 32 bit version.. ?
Thank you for any help..

Suggest you look up the definition of 'beta'. The Opteron and Athlon 64
version is still in beta so there will be no drivers for any hardware -
common sense really - manufacturers don't tend to produce drivers for beta
operating systems!
