XP 64-bit edition installation

T

Tony

I'm trying to install this operating system with the
following configurations:
AMD 64 3000+
256 MB PC3200 DDR
Asus K8V Deluxe motherboard
WD Raptor 10,000 RPM SATA hard drive.

Windows 2K installed fine, but when I attempt to install
64-bit system, I get the following error immediately after
installing the third party drivers for the SATA device:
FILE \WINXP\VIASRAID.SYS CAUSED AN UNEXPECTED ERROR (18)
AT LINE 2192 IN D:\SRU03SPD\BASE\BOOT\SETUP\OEMDISK.C.

Any ideas?

The version of XP that you are using is still in beta though there is a
customer preview program. If you are a part of that program there are
private newsgroups for this type of support and you should have received
that information with your documentation.

Assuming you are in the preview program, you will have to post your
questions to the private boards established for this purpose.
