XP & 2 Hard Disks & SyncToy

Has anyone used SyncToy to backup from one disk to another and then keep the
two current? If so, is there anything to watch closely? If no use of
SyncToy in this way, what do you think of SyncToy generally? Thanks.
 
I've used SyncToy in "Echo" mode with two hard disk and have found it an
excellent resource. However, lately SyncToy has on occasion emptied all the
files from a random directory on the backup disk which wasn't deleted by me
