xlsx extension

After installing Office 2007 and the service packs (1 & 2) on WindowsXP some
of my users work just fine. Others though (and this is random), do not have
Excel associated with the .xlsx extension. If I right click and choose 'open
with...' it will not let me select Excel even if I browse to the program
within the Program Files. If I log into Windows using the admin account
everything is associated correctly but not for that user. Any thoughts or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried several things that I
have seen on the web but have no success. Thanks.

xlsx is excel viewer, is this file being send by email,

No, xlsx is not the Excel viewer. Xlsx is a "no VBA code allowed"
format used by Excel 2007.

Try running Excel from the Run dialog with the /regserver switch.
Close Excel, go to the Windows Start menu, choose Run and enter

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Excel.exe" /regserver

Change the path to the Excel 2007 exe file as installed on the
machine. /regserver causes Excel to restore itself to factory
defaults and will restore the associates between the xlsx extension
and the Excel program.
