XLS-Files

Hello All:

Having trouble properly viewing XLS files in the Spread Sheet form of
Microsoft Works. A calendar appears in irregular pieces and the message
informs me that the task cannot be completed successfully (the exact wording
escapes my memory).
Is there a way to correct that?

Harry.

Try asking in an Office newsgroup, or even better, a Works NG if there
is one...

Better chance of a useful reply there.

..xls = Excel -- opens in Microsoft Office Excel
..xlr = Works Spreadsheet -- opens in Microsoft Works ...

I'm no MSWorks expert, but my guess is that you will have to open the files
in Excel and do a "save as" choosing MSWorks Spreadsheet format.

Certainly in Excel 2007 there IS no "Save-as" in Works format....

I may do that, but also getting the picture with 'Excel', which I don't
have.
Like to thank you and the others for your contributions.
Very helpful.
Thanks again,

Harry.
