x800Pro/Unsupported config Question

VGA + VGA (dvi to vga adapter) + HDTV via s out

ATI says unsupported..Does that mean it can't be done.

I wish to have a dual desktop for video editing and output home theatre via
component out to my 65 inch TV

TIA

As far as I know, the card only supports *dual* displays. The TV is
considered a display by ATi's semantics. You will have to disable one of the
monitors to output to the TV.

measn you can't do all 3 at the same time.

you can connect the 3 cables at the same time.
but you have only 2 screens available, you you just choose which screen is
display on each monitor.
so, 2 monitors will display the same screen while the third can display
another screen.

Sorry to seem redundant, but does that mean VGA 1 and VGA 2(Courtesy of dvi
to VGA adapter) Can Be display 1 and display 2 reespectfully, while display
3 (HDTV through S out) would mirror Display 2?

I have a left over DVI to vga adapter from an earlier radeon and hope it
would work on the x800pro. It will, right? The dvi on the x800 prois not
DVI-d is it?

TIA

Follow-up, so why doesa ATI call it "UNSUPPORTED" ?

First point, from what I know, the SVideo out support only 1024*768.
Second point, yes, you are in the right scenario, the svideo mirror the
display 2 (or the display 1, you choose)

I recommend to connect your HDTV through a DVI capable and not through the
SVideo, the quality is far better.

Actually the "s" out is an adapter that transforms into component output
from it. I know ATI offers on various cards HDTV out, some through VGA to
HDTV, Spome through DVI to HDTV and others through "S" to HDTV
