Wxp docs and settings folder?

T

Trio

Wxp pro with SP 1. Document scanned then OCR'd to MS Word
(saved as rich text format) is sent to a Temp folder that
I can only find using search. It is in C:/Documents and
Settings/User/Local Settings/Temp. When I open containing
folder the file is there and I can "climb up" the folder
chain to C:, but if I try to locate the file by starting
at C: and opening folders I can only get to C:/Docs and
Settings/Users. I cannot find Local settings or Temp. What
am I missing?
Thanks in advance

Hi,

They are hidden system folders, you need to change your view settings. Go to
the Control Panel/Folder Options, and on the View tab, set the options so
you can see hidden and system files. Specifically:

Enable (check) "Display the contents of system folders"
Enable (check) "Show hidden files and folders"
Disable (uncheck): "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"

I also recommend that you disable (uncheck) "hide extensions for known file
types".
