wupdater.exe

Rudy

Does anyone know what "wudater.exe" means? I am seeing
this when I restart windows. I reset my network settings
on my SBC DSL Connection, because it was not working, and
my problems started. I cannot conect my other computer to
the internet, which was working before, and I also cannot
get my computer to print to my printers. Any help would be
much appreciated.

Thank You,
Rudy

wupdater.exe is part of annoying spyware/adware installed by EUniverse,
KeenValue and other sources.

1. Open Administrative tools and start the Services applet. Check the
processes tab for wupdater - and right click on it - select End process
tree.

2. Click Start/Run regedit <enter>. Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Delete any references to wupdater.exe

And to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Delete any references to wupdater.exe

3. Click Start/Search. Search for wupdater.exe and delete all copies of
the file.

4. Install and use antispyware - eg. Spybot Search and Destroy, etc.
