I am getting repeated errors saying this file has encountered a problem and
needs to close. I click on send error report but then the error message pops
up again. I understand this is Windows Update and Windows is repeatedtly
recreating the file. I tried to stop the Automatic Updates service
unsuccessfully because of the constant error messages. Any advice?

Try "Windows Update" at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_w.htm It's
just over half-way down the page.

Click Start, Run, type SFC /SCANNOW, click OK. If any files are damaged
or missing, they'll be replaced. You may need to reboot afterwards so
damaged files will be replaced.
