Wrong product key

I have been trying to activate my trial version of microsoft office and when prompted for the product key I enter the only one I found and it tells me that it's wrong. Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to fix it? If not, how do I fix it?? Microsoft office came with my computer so the COA is on the back of my computer which I have turned around so I can easily see the numbers and letters. What do I do to fix this and be able to use it? Thanks in advance.
