Wrong MD5 Checksum for Pre-RC1

Schevenels Patrick

Hello.

I downloaded Windows Vista Pre-RC1 using Akamai Download Manager on Windows
Vista website but at the end of the download, the download manager tells me
that the downlad is corrupt.

I've checked the MD5 Checksum myself and it's wrong.

I think I will download the file again but I would like to know what's the
cause of this problem (I experienced the same problem with Beta 2 : I had to
download it twice to have a good checksum)

Thanks for your answers.

Patrick Schevenels.

Every time data is transmitted over the internet, there is a chance that one
or two bytes may go astray. Corruption of transmitted data is possible any
time. It's just one of those things that is out of our control.

Has anyone succeeded in downloading the iso using a different dl manager
(ie. not akamai)?

Yes, I just did it using my browser (Netscape 7.2/Mozilla). Took about
an hour on home cable, and I got a good hash!

I already had it but I wanted to test Akami and it took about 15 minutes
over a Cable connection. It may have been closer to 12 minutes. But it
didn't have although kiddie in adult body Beta testers who sleep on their
couch for days waiting for a new build to drop to satisfy their Jones and so
they can stop the "Mommy mommy please give us a new build that fills up the
beta groups one day after a new build drops. I think this site is
relatively unknown.

Had New Orleans been Seattle with it's predominantly white demography of
course it would have been rebuilt faster:

Asked if he believed race was a factor in the slow federal response to
Katrina, Nagin said: ``If it would have been a bunch of rich people in New
Orleans, I think there would have been a different response. I really do.''
