wrong low disk space warning

I get a 'low disk space' warning in XP (SP2). When I check in Windows
Explorer it shows low disk space. When I reboot I get the space back. This
process needs to be repeated every day now (the time between reboots has
been getting shorter, it used to be every week before). The hard drive is
actually 50% empty. I'm running windows XP Home. I run Norton's antivirus
and it shows no viruses. I run SpyBot and AdAware with no spyware detected.
I have run checkdisk and bad sectors were corrected. I have run Registry
First Aid (a program that detects and corrects bad links in the Registry).
The hard drive has been defragmented. I run Norton's firewall. I have
checked the processes running using the Task Manager and they all seem valid
processes. The computer is taking a long time to reboot, about 4 - 5
minutes. I have deleted the pagefile and recreated one in case it was
corrupted. I have searched the Microsoft Knowledge Base and Internet but
have not found any guidance. Any ideas?

Have you tried finding the files that have increased in size? Else you can
check that it isn't norton antivirus that has the norton recycle bin
enabled - it has a way of keeping old deleted files.
