Writting/creating file impossible on a shared folder

Hello,
i have a problem with 2 computers on a huge network, i managed to share a
folder and create a virtual disk between those 2 computers, a win 98 and win
xp pro computer (with the sp2)

the folder shared is on the xp comp

i can access to this folder from the other computer (win 98) but when i try
creating a new document on it, i got an error message saying that it's
impossible to write a document on the computer

to access the other computer i have created an account on the xp with the
login and password of the 98 comp with the admin options granted.. since then
i was able to connect (before i had the IPC$ thing) but impossible to write
anything on it..

thx for your help, and pardon my english which is not at his best :)

just wanted to add that it seems i can't save the folder to not read only ,
when i uncheck read only it appears i can save the new settings for all the
documents in the folder , but although i do it , when i re go to properties
menu of this folder read only still appears to be checked.. i don't
understand why..
