Writing styles options in word 2003

I'm using Word 2003 SP1.

When I go to Tools/Options/Spelling and Grammar, I only have "Grammar &
Style" and "Grammar Only" as options.

How do I get the other options to show? (Such as Casual, Standard, Formal,
Technical and Custom).

The other options are not available in 2003. Microsoft removed them starting
in Word 2002, and never gave what I'd consider a reasonable explanation. I
suspect their research told them that almost no one ever used anything
except the default style.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290943, particularly item #18.

Jay;

Thank you. Word HELP still references the other styles (click on the
question mark and then click on Writing Styles). I sure was confused.

Thanks again!

Word's Help is the red-headed stepchild of the app. When I wrote
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TOCSwitches.htm, in which I
describe the \p switch for the TOC field as "a really useless switch," I was
using Word 97. Three versions later, the switch still doesn't work, but Word
2003's Help topic on TOC switches still says:

\p "Separators"
Specifies the characters that separate an entry and its page number. For
example, the field { TOC \p "— " }, with an em dash, displays a result such
as "Selecting Text— 53." The default is a tab with leader dots. You can use
up to five characters, which must be enclosed in quotation marks.

The Help file giveth, and the KB taketh away (see, for example, "WD2000: Doc
Err: Help Text About TOC Field \p Switch Is Incorrect" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=230334), which explains that "five" is a
lie; only one character is supported).

It would be nice if they'd fix the bugs; failing that, it would be nice if
they'd fix the Help. But I regard Help topics like this as symptoms of hope
springing eternal, rather like the clothes I keep in my closet in the hope
that someday I really will lose weight and be able to fit into them again.
