My sister is a newbie just bought xp.what features or
program does she use to script a personal letter to be
copied. She has reg xp?I use me and have used 98 but no
idea to what programs she has.HELP!!!

Windows comes with Wordpad and Notepad. Microsoft Word is what most people
use. That does not come with Windows, and is a seperate product.

WordPad
Start>>Run>>Type "wordpad"

NotePad
Start>>Run>>Type "notepad"

She has "Notepad" and "Wordpad" that are installed as
part of XP. Both are very basic programs that allow you
to write text and print it out (or copy it to a floppy
for use somewhere else).

Wordpad is probably the better one to use. However, it
doesn't have any bells or whistles (formatting, spell
checker). About all you can do is change the type and
style of the fonts (letters). Both have a help section

Windows XP Home and Pro are both come preloaded with
Notepad and WordPad. Notepad is rudimentary and does not
support formatting of any kind. Wordpad allows formatting
that is somewhat compatible with Microsoft Word, whick may
also have come with her new system within Microsoft Office
XP. Access Notepad and WordPad via:
Start > All Programs > Accessories
and MS Word via:
Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office XP (or something
to that effect)
