Worm Patch

I installed the KB823980-x86_ENU patch on a Win XP
machine. Since that time, I don't seem to be able to get
it totally on our network, it takes forever to boot up and
shut down, and in general is very sluggish. It also
doesn't get some of the internet stuff it used to -- radio
station for example. It is also trying to synchronize
something all the time. It is now running with Service
Pack 1. Any suggestions?? Has this happehed to anyone
else??

Did you take any steps to scan for the blaster worm? Installing the
patch does NOT remove the infection if it's present.
