workstation will not show in network neighborhood

I have just taken over a client who has a 2000 domain.
only the servers show in the network neighborhood. no
workstations show in network neighborhood and can not be
found as a computer using search. I have taken one
workstation to a remote site and added several new XP PRO
workstations. the 2000 pro box can see the XP boxes but
the XP boxes can not see the 2000 pro box. I assume their
is a setting that is causing this. what setting is it?
 
net config server /hidden:yes
and
net config server /hidden:no

will enable/disable a 2000 box from showing up in Network Places. You should
still be able to connect to your machines with UNC's though. \\computername
 
Under your network settings, under view your can view Severs only or all
computers, click on it.
