If you want to save the worksheet onto the desktop, go to File / Save As and
browse to the desktop in your dialog box and save it there.

If you want to save a *shortcut* to the file on your desktop, right-click on
your desktop and click New . . Shortcut and browse to wherever you have
stored the file.
