What is the problem when I create a workgroup with xp and w2k pcs?
I make all pcs members of the workgroup but they can't see each other, and
if there is visibility the can't acces to the shared folders.
What am I doing wrong?
please help me!
Thanks

You didn't say what version of XP you have, Pro or Home. If you have
Pro, disable Simple Sharing (Folder Options>View tab). Create identical
user accounts and passwords on all machines. If you have Home you
cannot disable Simple Sharing (network guest access) so just make the
identical user accounts/passwords.

Additionally, check to make sure you are not running two firewalls
inadvertently on the XP machine. If you have a third-party firewall or
have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2005/06)
which acts as a firewall, then you do not want to have the Service Pack
2 Windows Firewall active also. If you have third-party firewall
software, configure it to allow the Local Area Network traffic as
trusted. I usually do this with my firewalls with an IP range. Ex.
would be 192.168.1.0-192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your
correct subnet.

If that doesn't work for you, here is an excellent network
troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it
and it will usually pinpoint the problem area(s) -
