Hi. I noticed the few word processing documents I have
work well with WordPad. Their just simple text. Is it
ok to uas Wordpad for simple letter or resume creation?
I noticed it doesn't have a spell checker. Are their
free or cheap ones that you can buy for Wordpad for
Windows XP? The other thing I noticed it doesn't have
envelope or lable maker either. I guess their are no
free or cheap add-ons for those? I guess Works or Word
is alot better than WordPad. Thanks, Craig.

Nobody can answer that question for you. If it meets your needs,
it's OK.

WordPad is nothing more than a glorified text editor, not really
a word processor at all. Just about any word processing product
on the market will be more capable. My personal preference is
WordPerfect, others prefer Word, and so on.

Nevertheless, if WordPad works for you, then stick with it. If
not, you should explore the alternatives on the market.

hi, i have them all ; ms works, word and word perfect which shipped with my HP computer. i like wordpads simplicity, but the lack of a spell checker is a bummer once you get used to it. all the other programs can sometimes be found on the internet free. they are all much more powerful than wordpad but also require a longer learning curve. each of the above programs has its advantages and its shortcomings. i liked word perfect until it started crashing on me. i guess word is the most widely used program. i like works as well it's fairly easy to learn, but i have an ancient version of it so i cannot speek for the new one. kleo
