Wordpad and notepad have disappeared.

I just wrote about this and I didn't include all I should have said.

The article on the internet I read, said if I uninstalled and reinstalled
wordpad it would fix it. It said to remove the word "HIDE" in the string
MSWordPad=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,wordpad,inf,HIDE,7. That's what caused all this.

Did you also remove the " marks? If you can find that reference again, go
back to that location and add back the two quote marks that would have been
between the int, and the ,7.

Removing the HIDE feature allows you to you to go to the add/remove icon in
the control panel (then choose the Add/Remove Windows Components in the side
panel.) There you can check to correct box to remove the Notepad and
Wordpad (I think they are under accessories) and then go back and add them
back in again. This process should replace these files.
