Word unexpectedly closes - normal.dot

I get tired of deleting ~normal.dot (routine after "changes have been made to
Global template...want to save?" - No, Cancel, close) but Word 2003 SP-1
still closes several times a day - only using Trusted Macros - Stamps.com and
ScanSoft pdf converter.

is there a way to keep it from closing

The stamps.com add-in is notorious for conflicts with Word.

Thanks for the quick and candid response!!!
Is there a work around, I really do like how the rest of Stamp.com
integrates so well with Word and Outlook - I would hate to "throw out the
soap with the bathwater...or was there a baby in there somewhere"

Or not worth the trouble?

AFAIK, the only official poop on this is in “You are prompted to save the
changes to the Normal.dot global template every time that you quit Wordâ€
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=291352), which suggests removing the
add-in. Sorry.

I am having the same problem- with ie and word, and uploading photos, even
to open a photo for my photoshop!
