Word to taskbar

When I try to open word it goes right to the taskbar and will not open.
It flashes briefly and then goes right down there. When I right click and
maximize nothing happens either.

It's probably right at the edge of your screen so that you cannot see it.
Click it in the task bar with your mouse, then Press Alt+Space, then M.
Now use your up/down/left/right arrow keys to move it about until it
becomes visible.
