Word takes 20 seconds to load and 15 seconds to unload. Why?

When I open programs and select Word, it takes a least 20 seconds or more
before it is up and ready to start typing. When I close word, it takes at
least 15 seconds to close. Excel on the other hand is almost instant loading
and closing.

What is the problem with word?
