How to decrease activation time of current Word window

K

When I have open Word window and want to switch to different application and
then return to Word again it takes some times up to 15 seconds to get Word
window active and ready for editing. Situation is worsening when several
Word’s windows are open.

It sounds like you don't have enough physical memory in the computer,
so program data is being swapped onto the hard drive to make room for
the other application. When you switch back to Word, does the hard
drive light come on and stay on for a while? How much memory does the
computer have?
