is there a way to tell a sequence of 4 words not to be justified (add extra
spacing) in a line when the paragraph is justified...

would like the flax seed/flax oil to stay together.

You could try using one of the fixed width spaces from Insert > Symbol >
Special characters.

Word's standard justification tends to get very spaced out - you might find
setting Tools > Options > Compatibility "Do full justification like
WordPerfect 6.x for Windows" produces a more acceptable result without any
special control over spacing.

Use nonbreaking spaces (Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar) between those words.
