When I open the word processor and try to type the text
appears with no spaces between the letters or words. This
also applies to all the templates. I don't know if I have
altered something to make it appear this way - but if
anybody can help, I would be most gratefull.

WHICH word processor? Which version? In most programs you can click
"Help" and then "About" in the menu, and it will tell you.
