word problems

Help. I am running windows 2000 Professional and have
Office Professional installed. I used Word on Wednesday
night with no problems. I went to use Word on Thursday
night and I keep getting the error: Winword.exe has
generated errors and will bel closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Office 2000. I have downloaded all of the
updates. When I try to download the Service Pack 3 update
for Office it goes part way and then asks for Data1.msi
file on the Word CD. I have the office cd in the drive
but it keeps saying it can't find the info. Please help.
I really need office and I can't use it. It seems like
excel is OK. Just word.

You'll need to specify to Office setup where Data1 is, which is in the root directory of the Office CD.
