My wife is having a problem with Word. She has lost the Symbols function
from the Insert dropdown menu. Using alt-I alt-S does not work either.
It's like it has been removed from Word. I tried fixing it by using
"add/remove programs" and repair and that did not repair it. I then
actually uninstalled office, rebooted, reinstalled office, and it still is
not fixed. Any ideas? As a possible point of fact, she believes that what
caused it was when she used cntl-alt-minus. This is office 2000. The
"character map" program still exists in windows, and the Symbols function
still exists in Footnotes, but that does not help.
