word opens on bootup

everytime i boot up a word document opens up right away,
it is always the same document, not sure how it does it i
would like it to go away. Thought it might have been a
scheduled task but it was not, how do i check out my
starup programs and see if it is there?

To check your Startup Programs:

Click START, PROGRAMS, STARTUP

if not listed then do this:

Click START, RUN, Type 'regedit' & press OK or ENTER

Click the Plus signs & navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Now, on the right of those 2 keys above are your startup programs. Backup
the keys first (REGISTRY menu/Export...)

Once the backups are done, just delete the values you want to delete

Quit 'regedit' - job done

There are other keys you could try, but the above 2 are the most obvious.
You can try the 'RunOnce' & 'RunServices' keys too
