Word lockout

A co-worker's Word documents have suddenly all been locked. I'm sure there's
an easy way to unlock them, but I'm afraid I don't know what it is. Could
someone help me?

I asked her previously whether it was activated or not, because I knew that
was one of the related reasons why the documents might be locked, and she
said that the IT person told her not to activate it.

One more thing: the error message is "This modification is not allowed
because the document is locked".

Well, then, case solved.

If it's not activated, it won't work. Activation is mandatory, registration
is not.
