Word layout

I have two computers. One has Word XP and the other 2003. When I open a Word
document in the XP I like the layout (view > print layout) Shows the entire
page (except bottom) with gray space around the sides and top. However when
I open in 2003 Word I have to slide side to side to see the edges. The page
seems to take up the whole computer. I have checked page layout and the
settings are the same on both pc's. Thanks for your help.

Thank you (so easy).
Can you help with another. I have a ppt that I need to insert a pic made in
word. I cut the original out but cant edit it. When I click it once, the
four corners have small white circles and there is a green one at the top.
What dos that mean? How do I apply that to the other pic or edit the one I
cut out? Thanks.

I don't understand "pic made in word", unless you're talking about having
put together a collection of drawing shapes, text, etc. If it's a
collection as such, you should be able to copy it over to PPT with no major
issues, although editing these things does differ between programs. You may
have to Ungroup to copied selection to do any editing. If you're working
with such graphics, show the Drawing toolbar (View>>Toolbars).

Actually, neither Word nor PowerPoint are graphics editors. In fact, Word
does some very strange things to imported graphics, and I would be willing
to bet PPT is not much nicer. Your best bet is to find and use an actual
graphics program to create graphics with the size and resolution you need,
and save them as GIF or JPG. A nice free program is IrfanView. I think it
started more as a graphics viewer, but it also has the capacity to change
size and resolutions, plus clean up photos.

I don't know about your circles - I haven't used PPT in quite a while. Your
best bet is to ask on the microsoft.public.powerpoint newsgroup about such
things.

Cheers!

Check your zoom setting and also check to make sure that you haven't lost
your "white space."

Well it was png format so I tried to edit the best I could in paint. I think
I have it now. Thanks for your help and Happy Thanksgiving! : )

You might check your 2003 machine to be sure View is set to "Print
Layout"--it sounds like you might have been viewing in "Normal"
