Word - In a blank document, it will not allow me to exceed one pag

When I start a new (blank) document in word, it will not allow me to go past
one page. I can continue typing, but it will not insert a soft page break,
when I do a print preview it shows only one page, and we I go back into the
document, only one page is there. I do not seem to have this trouble when
editing an older document. I think somehow my template was changed for all
new documents. Anybody have any ideas?

Usually, this means you're typing in a FRAME, a textbox or a table cell. Do you
see any kind of "box" on the page when you type?

How about if you turn on the display of non-printing characters (the backwards
P on the toolbar), as well as of table grid lines (Table/Show gridlines)?

Open Format | Columns and click on the box for One, making sure that "Whole
document" is selected for "Apply to," then OK to exit. If this solves the
problem in the current document, you will need to make this change in
Normal.dot. For instructions on finding and editing Normal.dot, see
