Word Files Suddenly Unavailable

When I attempted to open various Word documents today, a message popped up,
telling me that those documents are unavailable. What do I do?

Have you activated Word/Office? Try clicking Help > Activate Product.

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See

If you have Norton AntiVirus, go into its Miscellaneous options and
disable its Office Plug-in. See
