Hi

I am viewing a Word 2003 doc in Word 2007 and I can't select the text to
copy and paste. the document doesn't appear to be protected and all the
standard editing features are unavailable. I have tried saving it to a Word
2007 format but it hasn't helped.

Perhaps the fact that it's a Word 2003 file is a red herring. Could it be
that your trial version of Office 2007 has expired or your full version
hasn't been activated? What happens if you open a Word 2007 document?

Note that if your trial version _has_ expired, it's recommended that you
uninstall it prior to installing and activated a full version.

Hi

Great suggestion unfortunately it won't be the solution. My software is
registered and when I open a new Word document all the features are
available. I have also been using PowerPoint extensively over the last week
without a problem. I mentioned this because I first opened the word document
one week ago and have yet to find the solution.

Hmm... If Office 2007 is definitely OK then I can only believe that the
problem is that the document is protected somehow (although you say that's
not the case). What happens if you try to unprotect it? Also, what happens if
you open it in Word 2003?
